Elaine Haugen, is our Parish Health Minister. Members of the Parish Health Cabinet and their areas of ministry are Gloria Kappos (New Moms/Parents); Marilyn Shay (Adult Education); Katie Kendall (Grief); Sue Raasmussen (Friend in Deed); and Ann Sterner (Mental Health & Prayer). One the goas for our Parish Health Ministry is to assist the pastors in providing additional care and support to individuals/families during times of illness, grief, transition, crisis or celebration.

Prayer, presence, a listening ear and acts of kindness and concern are very important aspects of our Health Ministry. Services of the Word for Healing/Wholeness are held quarterly (or priviately at any time) and include an opportunity for laying on of hands, anointing with oil, and prayer.

New babies are greeted and welcomed with a gift from the congregation. We are always in need of volunteers to call on new parents and babies. We also provide support groups and services, such as: Pink Ribbon Ministry, Breast Cancer Support, Blood Drives, Grief Support, Divorce Support, and many others.

We have walkers, canes, wheelchairs, commodes, bassinets, etc., available in our medical loan closet at the church. If you need any of these items, please call Elaine at the church at 515-964-4348. We also welcome any donations to our medical loan closet.

Please notify Elaine Haugen or the church office (515-964-4348) if you need health related information, community resource information, would like to help with our Health Ministries, or have questions. We welcome new ideas and suggestions!
